Gregory | Battle |
Prof. Gregory Battle may as well call himself Battle, Inc. as he is the incorporation of scholarship, leadership and creative imagination which have enabled him to achieve some remarkable feats thus far in his personal and professional life. |
It takes a great deal of intellectual savvy to produce a doctoral dissertation in THEORETICAL ALGEBRA; yet, he accomplished this goal while working full time at then the Aviation Troop Command in Saint Louis where he was the Senior Operations Research Analyst estimating and formatting the cost/budget of advanced Army helicopter weapon systems. His cost analysis, economic analysis and decision risk assessment skills were acquired from federally funded courses at the Army Management Logistics College (Fort Lee, Virginia) and the Army Management Engineering Training Activity (Rock Island, Illinois).
After this stint of comptrollership in the Program Executive Office for Combat Aviation in the Kiowa Warrior Helicopter Program Management Office where he coordinated a fiscal stream of $242 million of Army weapons materiel, Dr. Battle accepted a position of Assistant to the Provost at Morehouse College where his 3-part investiture of leadership talents saw him working as Director of Defense Computational Research & Development Projects, Director of the NASA Project SPACE Office and an Associate Professor of Mathematics. He dubbed himself, The Maestro Of The Linear Combo, as he mesmerized a new generation of fellow Morehouse men, who themselves are now science doctorates, or dynamic world-class business mavens and enigmatic entrepreneurs.
After taking his motivational methods for teaching mathematics to Grambling State University, the celebrated home of Coach Eddie G. Robinson, and creating another corps of intellectual Tigers who are tackling the business/engineering world with limitless vigor, Professor Battle has settled into a seafaring home at Hampton University where his students still get entranced by the emulous flow of his imagination. He is a passionate poet; a cost analyst; an incomparable mathematics lecturer, a computational algorithm analyst with expertise in SPSS, IDL, SAS, FORTRAN, JAVA, C+, and MATLAB; and an articulate humorist who keeps his students in stitches as he weaves his anecdotal experiences into some unforgettable classroom presentations. This lifelong member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Incorporated encompasses every facet of achievement!
