Love Is Some Place Above The Clouds

by Gregory Battle

Come here; let me hold you tight.
May I indulge you with some sweetness?
May I hold you with delight?
I know your day has been weary,
As my hand gently stroke your back.
I understand all your worries--
Just incline and relax.
Now that you are mine to adore,
Won't you nestle in my strength and serenity,
While I lift your restless soul higher than before!

Because love is some place above the clouds.
It's in a stratosphere
where only daring hearts are allowed.
Because love is some place above the clouds.
To those who sigh and yearn to get there,
You only need to reach out sincerely,
No need to climb a crystal stair.
Because love is some place above the clouds.
Come go with me; we'll be happy above the clouds.

You whisper to me your frustrations,
Say your day's been tumbling down.
Time for me to end your deprivation.
Time for me to end your frowns.
Ahhhh. You lean over on my couch
     to take another button loose.
My hunger is fed slowly with tenderness
That's about to blow another fuse.
I swear you are rays of morning sun
Which dance across my skin,
Making me rise like a kite tossed by the wind.

Because love is some place above the clouds.
It's in a stellar place
where only daring hearts are allowed.
Because love is some place above the clouds.
To those who sigh and yearn to get there,
You only need to reach out sincerely,
No need to climb a crystal stair.
Because love is some place above the clouds.
Come go with me; we'll be happy above the clouds.
