Nyahbinghi Akinyele is in the U.S. Air Force and is currently stationed at Eglin AFB in Fort Walton Beach, Florida. She has served over 21 years in the military. As a young teen, she began dabbling with writing short stories and some poetry. It wasn’t until 2003 that Nyah (as she is called) began her serious journey into the world of poetry. After a three year serious bout with writer’s block, she was finally able to return to her creative roots in 2008.

"Writing poetry has become therapeutic for me because I can release all the good thoughts and bad thoughts onto paper. The majority of my poems are my own personal experiences that I don’t mind sharing." Nyah hopes to one day publish a book of her poetry.

You can contact Nyahbinghi via e-mail at dreadyheady@cox.net or by sending an e-mail to TimBookTu and it will be forwarded.
