I didn't get a damned thing
accomplished today
couldn't keep my focus
too many obstacles thrown my way
Was supposed to do the laundry
and get my house clean
but instead I chose to "chill"
relax, read a magazine
I was gonna rake the leaves
before I mowed the lawn
huh, that was a fleeting thought
when I started to yawn
Had planned to have dinner ready
when my kids got home from school
but I was tired as hell
so we broke the fast-food rule
Now, as I look back at the obstacles
that I allowed to get in my way
I see it doesn't take much
to ruin a whole damned day
