Transformation

by Nyahbinghi

Before the dawning of my existence
I danced with Sirius in a drunken haze
surrendered to his scorching heat
became pregnant with the burden of change
I heard clarity ring loudly in my ears
as transformation boldly proclaimed her arrival
thus, I was forced to remove the veil of illusion
from my eyes

I buried my soul in the earth for protection
while I cleared my sacred space
gathered my meditation stones
stood barefeet on salted clouds
absorbed my fears
smudged my temple with lavender and sage
released toxic beliefs from my pores
so I can breathe again

On the seventh day, I was reborn
when the Earth Mother travailed and moaned
delivered my soul from her aching womb
cradled and embraced me with her wisdom
promised liberation from the chains of ignorance
taught me how to let go
of my pain and suffering

I contemplate in mostly shades of blue
transcending former levels of consciousness
mentally transported through time and space
where I sit with the moon goddess
drink glasses of stark reality
see universe with third eye
and anoint my essence with divine love
I am purified
I am free
I am transformed
