B.Optimistic is Michael Levy started out writing rhymes around 1982 before concentrating more on poems and non-raps in the early 90's. Presently he resides in Maryland where he's lived for 5 years after moving from North Carolina. He holds a bachelor's degree from Fayetteville State University and is currently working on his graduate degree at the University of Maryland.

He mainly writes for the comfort and inspiration that he gets from some of his poems, and he says surprisingly he discovered that others find comfort in his poems as well. Despite not being sure of his future plans as a writer, he hopes that TimBookTu will be the first step toward making an effort of making his work available. He welcomes all comments and suggestions.
