Rodger L. Hilliard was born in Fayetteville NC in 1960. He was raised in North Philadelphia from the age of 5. Shortly after high school, he joined the U.S. Air Force and spent the 20 years in the Law Enforcement career field, retiring in 1998. His writings are most strongly influenced by the likes of Gil Scott-Heron, Nikki Giovanni and the Last Poets. After watching the Rodney King beating over and over on the television, he began to put his feelings down on paper and he felt better. He's been writing since. Rodger views his writings as his screams of anger, his punches against a brick wall.

Mr. Hilliard currently resides in Charleston, South Carolina with his lovely wife and best friend for life, Linda. He continues to work in law enforcement.

You can contact Mr. Hilliard to comment on his work by sending an e-mail to KnewBnMan@aol.com or by sending an e-mail to TimBookTu and it will be forwarded.
