Haiku (My Way)

by Rodger L. Hilliard

Sunday Morning

Rising with the sun
The smell of fresh baked biscuits
My Mama loves me

Peace

Black against Black crime
Perpetual fratricide
Search within for peace

Innocence Lost

Freely I submit
Giving in to my hunger
Tonight is the night

Love

Though merely a man
Your childlike gaze says I'm more
Eternally yours

Y2K

Embrace thy neighbor
Y2K, why not today?
Prejudice spawns hate

A Crackhead's Plea

Strung-out for a hit
Ain't no sunshine when she's gone
Lord, just see me through!
