Beulah Gordon-Skinner says she doesn't consider herself a prolific writer, but her work has been featured (Guest Poet) on the following sites: The Underground Poet's Society, Soul Cafe & Creator's Child Productions. After hard work and much prayer she compiled her first chapbook, Yesterday's Laundry: A Collection of Poetry and Songs. In addition to poetry her credits include: "Trouble Behind the Shades," "My Distant Heart," and "Inner Circle," skits that address homelessness and domestic violence issues. Performed live on stage at The Walt Whitman Cultural Arts Center (Camden, NJ), and Temple University (Philadelphia, PA).
Most recent spoken word performance: Ladyfest Philadelphia, March 20-23 2003, the Last Word Bookstore, University of Penn. Writer member of the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers (ASCAP). Certified in both domestic violence and sexual assualt intervention counseling. Trained at Elizabeth City State University, Rowan University (formerly Glassboro State College) and Trenton University.
Originally from Elizabeth City, North Carolina, she currently resides in Camden, New Jersey. She says "I am blessed to be married to my husband Chester for thirty years." Her interests include freelance photography, sewing, and gardening.
