William Anthoney Nash, Jr. aka Nashota was born in Louisville, Kentucky. He first began to perform poetry on stage at "Scribes and Vibes," hosted by Travis Tandy on the campus of Murray State University. Then later he performed at The Java House and Harriet Tubman Cultural Center owned by Nailah Jumoke in Louisville, Kentucky.
