Giving Birth to A King

by Tracy Mckever and LaVerne Prade

Birthed by a Queen
Inherited a throne
Delivered into a world filled with unknowns
Bore a crown with a golden staff
BEFORE his life was the AFTER math

Pain hidden, tears not seen
Pride shone through
All hail the Queen
This Ebony Prince
A joy to behold
His very existence, threaten the young and the old

Betwixt the glory lies the pain
Exalt the Son for he shall REIGN
His Indigo hue reflects the strain
Of living up to such a powerful name
And acquiring a world so completely insane

His strength watered down
By those who have found
His courage unbound
The hopes and the dreams
Lie dormant it seems

Discrimination, homelessness, and struggles of the ghetto
Preventing him from staying UPright only UNDERtow
Hoes scrape and rape his drug induced skin
Lunacy incapacitating quality living
Born a czar but the royalty left scars
Darkening the glow of what was once know as the brightest star
