Am I still that lazy?
I asked myself after reading Supasisters' blog today
Malcolm made me think like no other
In all these years I consider him a brother
Not only to me but to so many of us around the world and so I write:

Am I still that lazy
That I cannot walk his steps
That I still drink and smoke
That I remain uneducated
That I remain unwanting to change

Am I still that lazy
I don't read nonfiction
I don't watch history
That I remain in chains
Both mentally and phyiscally

Am I still that lazy Malcolm?
Have I not heard your message?
What is wrong with me?
Am I drunk off of Hip-Hop?
High off of fashion statements
Blinded by my bling-bling?

I stand and salute you this day--your day
I don't want to be lazy
I must be crazy not to want to continue the fight
It's more than a battle between black and white
It's a battle for what's right
