Good Old Days Gone By

by Vanessa A. Johnson

Remember the good old days gone by
When life was simple and you didn't care why.
Why about the grown up stuff
When you were busy playing games in the buff.

Remember the good old days gone by
A time for laughing, who had time to cry.
We didn't have a care in the world
We played with each other, boy and girl.

Remember the good old days gone by
When it was safe to sit on your porch and sigh.
When windows were up and doors didn't need locking
When even strangers were welcome to come a knocking.

Remember the good old days gone by
Today I say, oh me, oh my.
The world is so full of anger and hate
I wonder , oh wonder, what it will take
For days like these to pass on by
And hurry and turn into days gone by.
