Why Should I Desire You?

by Tameko L. Barnette

Your money doesn't impress me
I need substance in one's spirit.
Your actions are required daily
words are useful, if I must hear it.
Your high position doesn't phase me
true power, for reference, is within.
Your body doesn't taunt me
please hear me, I won't repeat again.
Why should I desire you
because you believe time is money.
Show me a man with pure love
and I'll give him all my honey.
