Power Of Love

by Karen Talley

I love a man
Who's been hurt by love
He's been beaten down
And torn apart
He's so devastated by love
He refuses to give
Another girl his heart
He's broken down and confused
He's so tired of being abused
He's so tired of being misused
I asked him to trust me
But he refused
I know how he feels
I've been there, too
He's so weak and really discouraged
He wants to love me
But doesn't have the courage
Look at what love can do
When its power is in the wrong hands
It can shatter the dreams and ruin the life
Of a good man
A man can drift
>From pillar to post
Running from what
His life needs the most
Running from love
'Til he can't catch his breath
Spending himself out
'Til there's nothing left
A fling with this girl, a tryst with that one
Each girl hoping that she's the one
He's sees that look in their eyes
There's no surprise
So he runs, he runs, he runs
Right into my arms
Right into my head
Right into my heart
And into my bed
I'm so broken down and confused
I'm so tired of being abused
I'm so tired of being misused
I asked him to love me
But he refused
Look at what love can do
When its power is in the wrong hands
It can shatter the dreams and ruin the life
Of a good woman
I love a man
Who's been hurt by love
And now,
He's got me hurting, too
