The Anointed One

by Robin Price

He makes me feel like his world is in my hand,

If it was I would definitely handle it with much care.

When he looks at me listening with great anticipation

On my next few words,

Peering at me as if I am about to tell him something

That could change mankind.

I can't explain it...he's funny, cool, sensitive

And did I mention anointed.

Hours felt like days as we sat thinking and talking

About the goodness of the Lord,

His excitement for his Father was stimulating, motivating

And captivating.

I didn't want the conversation to end,

I was waiting for another one to begin.

So that I could bask in him for awhile longer.

I know he had to go,

I did too,

But have you ever wanted to stop time

As you were engaging in such a moment

With another?

I did.

In fact I often want to rewind time and go back,

But the good thing about moving forward is

More moments that captivate, stimulate and motivate,

More moments with the Anointed One.
