I’m All About You

by H.L. Nichols

I understand the pains of your soul,
You’ve been scorned by love before,
I’ve been scarred too,
It’s 3:47 AM this Saturday morn,
Another poem about holding and kissing you,

Until you’re ready to give of your love freely,
Lady love...tonight and every night,
I’m All About You,

I understand the tensions of your soul,
I long to embrace your love...jones that won’t let go,
If you say no...stop...go slow,
Trust that I’m not going anywhere,
Fore patience is a virtue...Lady I’m here for you,

Until you’re ready to give of your love freely,
Lady love...tonight and every night,
I’m All About You,

I understand the disappointments of your soul,
The reasons you don’t believe,
I am responsive for wrongs that men before me have done,
I marched a Million Black Men strong to atone to make amends,
I’m willing to commit...put in work...
spend quality time,

Until you’re ready to give of your love freely,
Lady love...tonight and every night,
I’m All About You,

I understand the hesitations of your soul,
 “Actions speak louder than words,”
I want to show that this love is real,
Risk breaking my heart only to find you my soul,
If only to feel the love in your eyes the moment,

You’re ready to give of your love freely,
Lady love...tonight and every night,
I’m All About You,
