December

by The Protest Poet

All immigrants flock back home
(Border jumpers and legal travelers)
For that week long moment of grandeur
(Dancing, drinking and lying)
The world has been kind to some
(Judging by the type of cars they drive)
It has been rough to others
(Judging by the diseases they bring)
They believe it's a Christian month
(Mother says it is written in the Book)
Though all activities paint an evil picture
(Every morning of 25 December has a prayer)
By morning of next day, the police go to work
(Searching for those who searched others)
It's a once in a year thing
Everyone sweats year round to make it the best

(Border Jumpers are citizens who cross
from Zimbabwe to South Africa or Botswana
without passports using undesignated entry points)
