Black Love

by Alvin Bates & Tracy Mckever

If I needed to be where I wanted to be
But couldn't
And you searched for my location...

If I needed to say what I wanted to say
But shouldn't
Then you started the conversation...

And if I needed to feel the way I wanted to feel
But simply didn't know where to start
Then you met me half way, with the right words to say
And it satisfied both our hearts...

Isn't THAT Black Love?

If you were speechless
I would caress your lips
to help you find the words

When you lacked the courage
I'd strengthen your spine
to stimulate your nerve

I'd enter the darkness
so that you'd have the opportunity to shine
Place you before all things
so that you'd never be left behind

I once thought that love had no color
but now I know that it does
Because the day I met you...simultaneously
I was introduced to Black Love!
