Broken Mirror

by Tracy Mckever

How dare you look me in my face
And say a woman need know her place
When you've fallen from grace
Trying to retrace
Tracks that led to mental empy space

I carried you on these hips
Rocked you to sleep with these lips
Allowed you to sip from these tits
So brother don't even trip

You think a woman's place is in the kitchen
Bowed down and on her knees licking
While you're out on the corners tricking
Obtaining info and snitching
As your inner time bomb is ticking

You use to be the hardest brother in the hood
Now you are just hard up and no good
Trying to make sense of a life you never understood

Wanted for rape in five different states
Loosing weight at a devastating rate
Thrown into diseased infested waters as bait
Swimming fast but too late

Wishing I could turn back the hands
To when you were more than just a man
When life wasn't so hard to understand
And when the taste of life wasn't so bland
