Marquitta S. Bey is from Toledo, Ohio. She writes "The execution of Stanley "Tookie" Williams really hit home with me. I did not know this man personally, but his case, his story, and his legacy went deep into my soul."

She continues "The only way that I could find peace with Tookie's execution was to look at it in a spiritual way. I believe he is innocent of those 4 murders. Writing the poem helped me deal with this issue. I hope it can shed light on a subject that will soon be forgotten and help anyone having a difficult time dealing with this subject and many similar to it."
