Blank Page

by LaVerne N. Curtis

I never could find the words
Or even the phrase
To fill the empty slate, or the blank page

See I thought I had it all
Worldly possessions, big and small

Traveled coast to coast
Shore to shore
Looking
Searching
Praying for more

Not knowing what I would find
Until I met you
Life has never been the same
The feelings anew

The void has been filled
The days have been paved
You’ve filled the empty slate, and the blank page

I now know the meaning of God’s divine time
He’s aware of our hearts, and the keeper of our minds

From the moment I saw you
The connection was so keen
And at this very moment
The end justifies the means

My vision is so clear
My love no longer caged
Because you filled the empty slate,
and the blank page
