Journey
Tanya's Photo

Tanya King, "Journey" is a Newark, New Jersey native, who seems to have metamorphosed in Washington, DC. She is the Mentor Program Manager for the Black Writers Alliance (BWA) www.blackwriters.org.

Most of her friends refer to her as the "make it happen" woman. Journey just doesn't "talk about it", she does what it takes to make it happen and finds pleasure in helping those who struggle to "make it happen" along their Journey.

Journey's poetry has been published in anthologies and she operates a small business (SHE/MIND Production, LLC) where she writes personalized poetry for weddings, anniversaries, and dedications. Journey has blessed the mic's of venues in D.C. such as Mangoes, Bar Nun and Heart & Soul Cafe, and and she co-hosted the Black Writers Alliance Reunion and Conference in August 2001 in Dallas, Texas.

In the Fall of 2001, Journey will self-publish her first collection of poetry and short stories and is currently working on her first fiction novel.

You can contact Journey via e-mail at journeywrites@yahoo.com or by sending an e-mail to TimBookTu and it will be forwarded.
