Resolve

by Lakesha Jenkins

Your eyes hold sadness that shakes my resolve,
my desire to see that sadness become joy,
to watch the lines around your world weary eyes
become laugh lines around your mouth plagues me
I long to see your body relax in the ease of my love,
to know your trust in me is complete
The desire to ease into your heart as easily as I can your arms
compels me to resist the urge to run,
to flee from your brokenness
Your uncertainty of life & of me & of yourself
makes me wonder about the past you guard so secretly
Sadness fills my eyes when I see the bend in your back
from the burden of your troubles
The kid in me want to play with you...make you carefree
The woman in me want to make love to you....
or find out if you are capable of love
The God in me wants to just love you...
fully, completely, without anything in return
But God only know if I have the Resolve
