Purple

by Lakesha Jenkins

Like a thief you stole your way into my heart

When our bodies met I felt the spark

a soft light glowing as our lives intertwine

The perfect fusion of blue and red

Creating a purple so divine

Your voice pure as silk caresses ear lobes

Your hands softly touching releases all control

YOur kiss like sweet nectar i cant wait to taste

This purple so bountiful I crave it everyday

NO... I hear you say

As you push me away

I try to come towards you but you start walking away

Pain like a bullet has torn through my heart

and threatens to steal that precious purple spark

Tears fill up the hole where I thought our love would live

And although you've abandoned me

My love for you yet lives

Forever in a day I will look for you in my dreams

My arms will hold no other until we are together again

I miss my lover who is also a dear friend

Please come back to me purple

So my world can continue to spin
