I Don't Want To Be Goin' To No Prison

by Henry Hardee

WHEN my daddy comes in
I can tell right away if he got any money.
If he smiling and carrying a bag of food
then I know He ain't gonna holler at me
if I ask him for a dollar.

Last night he bring me some bubble gum blunts
but I don't want that stuff
even if it's candy
it can make you act crazy
like the people on the street,
on the tv
and hear on the radio cussing
and singing rap.

I know it ain't for me
cause I don't want to be going to prison
like my Uncle Slick who is
locked up away from he family.

I'm scared to go to jail.
I don't want to be away from my mama that long.

My mama say that Jesus won't let me go there
if I keep going to church.
