What does is take?
What must i do?
To be considered fit enough to co-exist with you.
How much intelligence should i acquire?
How much sophistication should i possess?
To measure up to your standards of success.

It does not matter what i do.
It does not matter what i say.
You will continue to judge me unjustly anyway.
I can climb the mountains,
Swim the seas
Fly through the heavens
And still not be accepted in the white man's society.

Don't accept me!
What do i care!!
Just stop slandering my race.
Stop being so unfair.
Stop degrading me and putting me down.
Face reality, that i will always be around.

Always here!
Always aware!
Right on your back
Continually climbing those freedom stairs.

And you may look down upon me,
But in your mind you know the truth.
I will not fail, though you wish me to.
I will not fail, for in my soul i am better than you.

Evil and wicked, that's what you are.
Unpure and hateful, just the things you call me.
Seems to me that its the only way you know how to be.

I know you're afraid.
I know you're in fear.
Of what you know i can do,
If i was there
And you were here.

A time will come.

Of a race of people that survived a living hell.

And they conquered.
And they overcame.
