Rapper's Delight

by Trina Williams-Emigh

Wish I didn't have to hear you
always calling a woman a bitch

Wish it wasn't negativity
that was helping you get rich

Wish you'd stop flashing money
all the goddamn time

Wish for once, you didn't have a woman
showing her behind

Wish to hell the repetition
would finally dissipate

Wish by now the money
had altered more, than just your estate

Wish for an offering
of just one positive verse

Wish that a phrase dispelled
this seemingly unbreakable curse

That a rappers delight
is no longer in the content of his words
but in the amount of dollars he can herd
