For Lack of a Better Praise

by LaVerne C. Prade & Trina Williams-Emigh

Praise more than just my beauty
The curve of my hips
Fullness of my lips
How heaven lies
in-between my thighs

Praise me for my pride
My intellect
How I articulate a phrase
The grace of my walk
The certainty of my gaze

Praise more than my ability to
Go all night
Keepin' it tight
Screwin' you right

Praise me for my compassion
My understanding
How I give you my all
The way I've survived
The strength to stand tall

Praise more than the exterior
There's so much more to me
To look at just one facet
Would be pure triviality

Praise not the roundness of my behind
Nor the way I make your nature rise
The essence of me you can only surmise

Praise my eyes, which are deep as the ocean
With stories to tell
How this one and that one put me through hell
Didn't they know
Hadn't they been told
Of the streets I've walked-paved in Gold

Praise the treasures in me, the gifts I possess
Not just my silky hair or the size of my breasts
See to delve into me without being amazed
Would once again be
…….For Lack of a Better Praise
