The Nature of Her Freedom

by Trina Williams Emigh

She is the tree,
Who's roots bring life to stems that sprout extraordinarily
Who's limbs spread gracefully toward redemption
Who's trunk supports for eternity

She is the spirit of a freedom
That cannot be stifled

She is the earth
Who's soil gives forth nourishment that supplies generously
Who's strength withstands destruction
Who's expansion generates history

She is the spirit of a freedom
That offers hope

She is the blossom
Who's growth offers the world its beauty intimately
Who's fragrance dominates the senses
Who's touch satiates humanity

She is the spirit of a freedom
That warrants attention

She is the stream,
Who's resource flows without cease readily
Who's travels expand courses
Who's need is mandatory

She is the spirit of a freedom
That defines purpose

She is the sun,
Who's rays whisper warm sentiments graciously
Who's appearance generates life
Who's power creates prosperity

She is the spirit of a freedom
That became infinite
