The Myth of His-story

by Trina Williams-Emigh

Let me give you something to think about
Parlaying information that carries much clout
An introduction into history,
So that it's no longer a mystery
Our Egyptian forefathers begat this black race
Their statues and paintings, resemble your face
No myth, this is reality I orate
Mankind has prospered, from the fountain of your knowledge
Religious
Scientific
Moral
Social
Then used your humanity to oppress you
Forgetting that you began history
And have survived his-story,
In order to put an end to the myth, of his-story
Born from the originators of a legacy
Osiris
Isis
Ramses
and Cleopatra
The quality of life that flows through your veins
Is that from which an African civilization reigns
