Branching Out; an Inverted Poem

by Trina Williams-Emigh

For longing to be like a tree-
Do you think me mad...

Desirably - an African baobab
Or a River Birch
Easily a Black Oak
Or a Silver leaf Maple
...Maybe a Red sequoia

No matter what season life may bring
Always standing

Screaming boldly in the spring
Silent in the winter
Leaning when able
Bending when necessary
Arms stretched outward in praise
And tall
...Majestic even

For longing to be like a tree-
Do you think me mad...

-----------------
This is an inverted poem, a poem that is meant to be read
from bottom up, but that would also work from top down
and either way you'd get the same meaning -
just a different interpretation
