Hey Brothers, Proceed With Caution

by Trina Williams-Emigh

That brother in the park
Now he was fine
His friend - the white guy
Was really kind

He said that I was pretty, and sweet
While brother was licking his lips like I'm a piece of meat

Damn - that brother sure was fine, but-
I don't have time for his foolish games
Can't give me the respect I deserve
Want to take my essence, my honey
And then kick me to the curb

Always wants my sex, never love
To cheap for a date
Offering deals
Talking, how about a happy meal

Let the white man make him a joke
Come on man - get rid of that yoke
Around your neck - before you choke

Be the man we know you can be
Damn man - you're fine,
Strong body,
Determined mind
Treat your women like you treat your wine

Savor us
Love us
Drink us in
Stop pushing us away
Let us within
Your heart
Your soul

Show us that we are important to you
Not just someone to help with the bills
And lay upon to get your thrills

Before the white man took your women by force
Now man he doesn't have to be so coarse
Because you push your woman into his world
That white man knows that my essence is sweet
And as for my honey, there is no better treat

You better cherish what you've got
Realize fast
Before that woman
Leaves your ass!!!!!!
