Five -&- Dime

by Trina Williams-Emigh

I once thought that you were worth more than gold
and for your scent....
your taste.....
I bared my soul
And I stripped down to nothing
offering you my cup
.....too sup
at your leisure
Didn't I please ya'
with my inviting eyes
....welcoming thighs
and my no nonsense
no pressure attitude
I guess I got things misconstrued
when you called me your woman
your Boo
Was any of what you said true?
Your stock just plummeted
cause though you glittered, you weren't gold
so your portfolio, I sold
And I reported you, for this was surely crime
cause you were barely more than five cents,
and not even worth a dime
