Don't Make Me Write About You

by Trina Williams-Emigh & Tameko Barnette

I'll capture your deceit
inbetween the lines of a verse
allowing everyone to see you at your worse
Don't Make Me Write About You
I'll describe your cowardice
in metaphoric splendor
every tear, every cringe, every panic you render
Don't Make Me Write About You
I'll expose your malice
in the song of my rhyme
for the pain and hurt you caused me, time after time
Don't Make Me Write About You
I'll mimic your tricks and silly games
in a obvious cliche fashion
like, 'tricks are for kids' and 'games were your passion'
Don't Make Me Write About You
I'll sum up your personality
in a stanza that's short but sweet
Nothing to share
didn't give a care
but took just the same
Please, Don't Make Me Write About You!

I'll stretch you out
every measure showing the real
a little something to make you squeal.
Don't Make Me Write About You
I'll exploit you all day
into massive oblivion
since you didn't do one bit of giving.
Don't Make Me Write About You
I'll beat the hell out of you
with each verse as if the words were sticks
for all the deceptive, manipulative tricks.
Don't Make Me Write About You
I'll scribe all the pain
every single hurt and the woes
the results when you tried to control.
Don't Make Me Write About You
I'll add up your negatives
in a poetic form so sweet
nothing to declare
didn't give or share
but hurt me just as deep
Please, Don't Make Me Write About You
