The Bewitching

by Trina Williams-Emigh

You wondered what magic I possessed
Because you fell under my spell
I guess if you hang around…time will tell
That this here is no magic
Just womanly wiles
A manner of seduction that can’t be contained in vials
A natural persuasion
Born of feminine mystique
A part of an equation
That is undoubtedly unique
A chemist’s alchemy cannot compare
The shaman’s sorcery doesn’t have a prayer
Soothsaying witches can’t even compete
The magician’s illusions…..ha….so obsolete
No use for the wizard’s wizardry
Nor a fortune tellers trickery

You wondered what magic I possessed
Because you fell under my spell
I guess if you hang around…time will tell
That this here is no magic
Just womanly wiles
A manner of seduction that can’t be contained in vials
A natural elixir
Treacle for the trials of existence
A top shelf mixer
The piece de resistance
Vessel of enchantment
Overloaded with phenomenal content
Just waiting to be imparted
Unfortunately my discovery is still uncharted
For I am a hypnotic narcotic
Far too exotic

You wondered what magic I possessed
Because you fell under my spell
I guess if you hang around…time will tell
That this here is no magic
Just womanly wiles
A manner of seduction that can’t be contained in vials
And by labeling it magic
You make it so tragic
Now let me tell you what it is…
Magnetism, charisma, appeal
Mysteries us women can’t seem to conceal
