I'm Going Home

by Doc Williams

I'm going home to be with my Lord
They say the pen is mightier than the sword
All my words I hope you take heed
I hope this sheds light on all who will read
These words I write they come straight from the heart
I pray these words reach you right from the start

I'm going home to be with my Lord
So I can give praise it's he I adore
It is he who has blessed me right from the start
It is he who has stayed close to my heart

I'm going home to be with my family
To see my aunt uncle and also my granny
To roam through heaven on streets made of gold
I am sure glad that I gave up my soul
To Jesus Christ when I was nine
Now in heaven forever will I shine

I'm going home to be with my Lord
It is he alone who holds the keys to heaven and
abroad
Through him I shall have everlasting life
Through him I escape the pain and strife

Thank you Lord for blessing me so long
Thank you Lord for keeping me strong
Take my hand and lead the way
I'm glad I took a moment to pray

Now I lay me down to sleep
The Lord has come to take his sheep
Now since I died before I woke
The Lord took my hand and then he spoke
Job well done it's time my child
Let's go home and then he smiled
But I'm not done I don't want to leave
Because very hard my family will grieve

Your job there is done I'll take care of the rest
And then he placed his hand on my chest
He filled my heart with so much joy
That I felt like a kid a little boy
Now I'm at peace in heaven I do roam
Because like I said I'm Going Home
