Life's Contrasts

by Juan Antonio Cordova

                              (I)
                      Why should I hate?
               Life is a journey full of regrets.
               Life is a mortal chasing the wind;
          an injured sparrow who can't find its nest.

                             (II)
                     Why should I  love?;
           Love is the virtue that forever will be;
            Rivers and oceans can't ever drown love
           for out of love's essence came you and me.

                             (III)
                     Why should I die?
       Life is a romance to those who were taught;
       that God is the potter and we are the clay
   he shapes us and molds us with great care and love.

                             (IV)
                     Why Should I fear?
      for those that are coward; will never achieve;
     Life’s greatest challenge; life greatest purpose.
I will be brave and fight all my battles on land or on sea.

                             (V)
                    I want to see God;
      The Devil is the emblem of all that is dead;
    of all the nightmares that could be sweet dreams;
      and this is the climax of all that was said.
