Melting Time

by Lucy Chihandae

You and I blend like two opposite sides of a clock face.
Maybe we surpassed that and owned time.
I am like the time guard, the ancient keeper of seconds,
Minutes and hours...
Counting morsels of nanos like bit coins
To make a wholesome amount of dollars.

They say time is money and I guard it, measure it,
Stretch it, plan around it....
But when I am with you____ time melts away
Like Icarus’ wings meeting the glare of time_____ sun.
You smolder me, swallow my measured minutes up
In your dimension of ‘now.’
And for that moment, time is fleeting...
Stands still____ loses value
Like bit coins under valued on the stock market.
And the only gold about you is your sun-blest timelessness.
I embrace it.
...and forget to plan to be a slave to the minutes ticking away,
Distantly...
purposely...
timelessly...
