A Letter to Rosa (One)

by Catherinebutterfly

God is choosing
The despised
"The things which are not, to bring to nought
The things that are."
God is setting you up and you don't even know it.

God is restoring man in this hour.
He is showing us all a dap of His mighty power.

Let it be and here we are
Let us make man in our image,
Says plenty
But we as a people were told, we weren't in it.
God didn't create our kind
He didn't give us a mind.
Told lies instead of the truth, kicked back,
Slapped back, knocked back and we still's in the back.
Claiming to know who we are, whose we are
And we're still at the back.

Let us make man in our image
After our likeness and let them have dominion.

Created in this image we've been bounded
Treated like we are the lowest things around
Not created to be ruled over, but to rule, to have dominion

Not created to be a slave this is not the image of God
For centuries now this lie has ripped at our father's heart.
By the fallen creatures that told us about their god

"Whatever I don't have dominion over, will have dominion over me"
When I was but a little girl my Mama drifted in me.
Color folks to those folks ain't gonna ever be equal, or free.

So I live, and let live.
It started to nurture like a deadly infection.
It felt like I had received the can't grow injection.

To be controlled by another fleshly soul would only reach within
Trying to destroy the "God in me", that know that I know the
God I serve is the Only One God has dominion over me
He sent His only True Son to set me free.
These truths history denied my people and me.
