Me!

by Catherine Butterfly

Looking in the mirror at the edge of her bed
sat a fat woman, rubbing her legs
looking more dead then alive
at the sides of her thighs
made tears come to her eyes
her fingers so swollen, and her feet too
she couldn't sit up from the pain in her back
her mind messed up since she'd felt through the cracked
swollen, puffed were her face, so big and round she just
sat there and gazed.
the doctor told her to lose some weight if she didn't
it would be her greatest mistake
as she pulled herself up from the bed
these words was the last she said
If I could only go back and do
it all over again
the first thing I would do
is keep myself safely away from men.
