In The Beginning

by Catherinebutterfly

When first came I to planet earth
Before the dawn of time
Before there came land of the free
my love ruled supreme

Then by chance-or twist of fate
came mankind, and then came hate
net came time, and then, to late ideas

but long ago pre-space and time
when all there ever will be was
as in there is nothing else
my love ruled supreme.

where once there was only love
there as now just hate
when once there was only peace
discard now tempt fate
distention like a lover looking good.

mother natures days agape
mankind did proceed which rape
often all she was a lot
opening Pandora box
as if he were immune to her disease

And out of there came all sort of things
hate with amore, greed with wings
strolling arm-in-arm with his ambition

False friends for fostered treachery
and soon made slaves of those born free
and hung their dreams from dead trees
in the hand of libertines.

While other men protested not
Some let my love die and rot
and this grave crime they soon forgot
but I did not.

When first came I to planet earth
before the dawn of time
all that ever will be, was,
love that you may never know again
is yet mines
