Today in the year of 2005 we are still strugggling to get some basic rights
We are allowed to ride on the front of the bus and some basic jobs they give us
But we must open our eyes just as Rev King continye to fight for justice and equality
all the advances we have made thus far some people are trying to turn back the clock
so we must keep his dream alive and fight for what's right
We must never give up on our children no matter what
We must find ways to reach them in love
All the killings the drugs the long prison terms rape us as a people destroy our brilliant minds
Still we must continue to keep his dream alive
Using our minds to sow positive and creative things to our people without tearing ourselves down
Our people have suffered so much in this world and yet we are still a blessed people
Thank you Dr. Martin Luther King for giving so much of yourself
Let us as a people continue to live out your dream
We love you rest in peace
