God I promised that I would change and walk in truth
Write positive things to the world to up lift your people
Not get caught up in this world and the so called American dream  
Nor will I forget the past of a great people's legacy

Go ahead give me the bullet I'll take it for my people others took it before me
If that's what it takes to wake up just one mind then I'm ok
They may be the one who will pick up the torch and take it to the next level
I can't be afraid to have a talk with my own people even it they don't always' agree
I pray they see Gods hand on my life molding me to write to the world 
And not to reason with the gift that I have been born with
Who am I to question God for an answer I do not deserve

But right now I'm going to live and do what God has ordered me to do be free
Carry on the traditions of my ancestors before me 
creating a pathway for human beings of all walks of life
 
We must continue to be taught the truth about ourselves 
and demand accountability from our people about the image they portray 
We must look deeper into one's own self and accept 
and learn the truth about our greatness
