Black Tears

by 1st Poet

As I look out these windows of mine
I can see the devastation that’s destroying our people
All across the United States and Africa Black men are dying in record numbers
I can’t understand how we can go to war in other countries
When our enemy is self inflicted hatred brought on by racism
Not by just whites but every human being who does not get outraged at this genocide
Black Tears
I cry when I see another black man shoot another black man and why?
Just to get a couple greenbacks and a name for his stupid self
While some pitch drugs in our communities from their corporate jets
Lobbying to pass laws on the other end of the system
Investing them drug dollars in big corporations
Who in turn support some easy to persuade politician
Not to mention the big bucks to their campaigns
Obligated to do whatever them dirty hands say
Black Tears
Seeing a young black mother selling herself for crack
Turned out by some foolish brother
Only thinking about destroying my sister's God given purpose
God help me I got to say it I’m tired of seeing sadness on the news
Young lives destroyed before they even get a chance to live
