Long Live the D.J.

by B.J. Burgins

In the early morning work drive
I let Ken Spider Webb
crank me up to another daily hustle,
via Sirius

then on a good day
I let the Mid-Day Diva
play me some goldie oldies
and I switch to Bugsy Buggs
to see what he's got tuning,
but echoes from the past
bring to mind
Tall Paul and Shelley "the Playboy"
'cause Showboat used to make 'em
take they clothes off
and I used to wonder
what'd be going on at that party
and like Mr. Al Isaac
"I Ain't Lying!",
R.I.P. Doug Banks,
Long Live the DJs.
