got my mind twisted in a daze
trying to redefine what was written
bring to life our truths that were hidden
for 430 years of peril in the dark
masked behind the faces
but leaving oppressions mark.....
now the dawn of a new millennium
bringing light to a dark scene
burning down the AmeriKan Dream
with politicians caught masturbating
on the Corporate Green
and our economy still falling
down in between the seams
(but Hell I ain't hearing em' fall)
cause the gap between our two worlds
are widespread further than City Hall
you can hear us screaming
on the other side of the wall
but can't heed the call
"cause a trip into the ghetto is a lost cause"
and chances of survival are the worst of all
