I stood on my knees with tears in my eyes
words of a sad song echoed in my ears and through my mind
Praying for my lost brother
Trapped inside of a dark cloud
getting drenched by the Cocaine Rain
When will my brother see the sun again?
I got to my feet and stared out of my back window
watching him make his way down the alley
with the $10 dollars that he stole from my mothers purse
i screamed, Brother come back, Brother come back
but my silent screams fell on deaf ears
I didn't sleep again that night
and vowed not to sleep until my prayers were answered
When i think back on that time
A time when my family was torn to shreds
I still wonder what would have happened
had the Lord not answered my prayers
Today my brother looks upon the sun in the day
and my eyes rest at night
I wake up early and step out into God's light
and I know that it is shining on both of us
