The Secret That Is No More

by BlakSistah

Secret desires and hidden temptations blind my eyes
My mind keeps saying you’re a friend, my heart knows its lies
These feelings I have I just can’t explain
For how do you tell your “friend” that your end of the bond is deeper?
While you still remain a friend
Only that relationship of friend can no longer be
Confusion, sadness, anger
All from a desire, a dream, a fantasy, that can never be complete

For it takes two in a friendship and in friendship my heart can’t be free
Yet day after day I live, if that’s what you call living,
With you never knowing how I feel
It’s like “a slow slip into tedious madness.
With a long stretch of the unknown before me.”

A wish a hope a dream to hold your heart close to mine
I know you feel the same… …

Just not for the one who needs you to.
