Dancing Thunder

by Levi James Baldwin III

As the crackle of electricity...
fades from the air.
Dispersing charged Ions...
throughout the atmosphere.
Running across the forest...
and resting in my hair.
So that it salutes at attention...
like a general was there.
Moments of silence follow...
with a downpour of rain.
Soaking me to the core...
shelter would be in vain.
The silence is broken...
by an explosion of sound.
Echoing for miles like...
a mythical giants heart pound.
Dancing thunder shaking...
the heavens with it's beat.
Like a party in the skies...
all we hear are the feet.
Spinning and dipping to a...
ancient music so sweet.
It would drive mortal man madd...
and put womyn in heat.
I look forward to the day...
I no longer only hear the boom.
And become a participant swirling...
about the cosmic ballroom.
